U.S. ARMY WOMEN’S MUSEUM
About the project
Located in Fort Lee, Virginia, the U.S. Army Women’s Museum shares the remarkable story of the women who have served and led our Army throughout its history. The only museum in the world dedicated to Army women, the museum describes the struggles, sacrifices, and achievements made by women in service to our country from its founding right up to the immediate present.
The museum’s 10,000 sq. ft. of exhibits feature evocative immersive settings, hands-on interactives, a rich collection of artifacts, and historic video clips to trace the arc of the nation’s acceptance of women in the Army, and the opportunities offered women to serve in changing capacities from camp followers to combat soldiers, to General Staff.
Visitors to the museum leave impressed by the women who have served. They are inspired by their determination, sacrifice, and contributions to our nation’s security.
