About the project
Children's Mercy Hospital is a pediatric medical center in Kansas City, Missouri that integrates medical education, clinical care, and research to provide care for young patients. The Children’s Mercy Story is a three-dimensional display located in an area highly trafficked by families and visitors. SFD has designed this display to take guests on a tour of the hospitals’ rich history and achievements.
Incorporating lively graphics, interactive elements, and a sampling of historically-significant artifacts, the dynamic display shares the story of the founding of Children's Mercy Hospital by Alice Berry Graham and Katharine Berry Richardson. The display interprets the hospital's remarkable arc from its earliest years to its cutting edge advancements over 120 years. Most importantly, it illustrates the hospital's steadfast devotion to the care of children. Today, the pediatric medical center is considered amongst the finest in the United States.
